It’s almost Christmas

Laura baking cookies

Christmas is really coming up fast now. Last weekend we got most of our shopping done. As expected it was absolutely insane at the mall and we both just about went crazy by the time we got out of there. Laura baked us some sugar and gingerbread cookies. I helped decorate some of them but I won’t take any more credit than that. Things are starting to get pretty quiet around the office. Many people are already on vacation. I have to work next Monday but then I’m off until Januray 4th. It’s going to be nice just taking it easy for a couple weeks. I think our current plan is to head to Sturgeon Bay next Wednesday, then to Quinnesec on Friday or Saturday, and then back home on Monday. But the details haven’t been ironed out yet. We’re going to be staying in Rochester for New Years, probably just having our own little party.

  1. The cookies look awesome. I’m not baking anything:( Too much else to do. I still have shopping. We have to get our tree up this Saturday. We’ll have a quiet Christmas. Grandma says she’s not coming up because Elaine & Mark are going to her house on the 27th, so she’s waiting for them. It will be just Dad, me and Dayna, quite the difference from our usual Christmas! We are heading to Nahma on the 31st for the party at the Inn. Wish you guys could make it! We’re staying at Grandma’s though because the man doing our heating system hasn’t even done it yet!! I was pretty bummed. If it was in, we were going to leave the house open, but the pipes in the basement will freeze with no heat down there. When we went there last weekend the hot water pipe going up to the kitchen had frozen. We had to blow the hair dryer on the pipe to unthaw it. I don’t think it would make it to New Year’s. It will be good to see you guys. I wish you could see Miles. He is getting so big!

  2. Me want cookies

  3. We still have a lot of cookies here. Too bad we have to eat them all.

  4. Somehow I doubt we’re going to eat them all. There are a ton!

  5. You can always bring some when you come home!

  6. There is no way those cookies are going to last until next weekend. I will see to that.

  7. Bummer!!!
